On January 25th, 2011, my wife and I celebrated our daughter Raina's first birthday.  We were excited to reach this milestone and eager to see her learn to walk, run and grow in her second year.  We were also making plans to accommodate a baby on the way that would make us a family of four.

On January 27th, 2011, Raina was diagnosed with an aggressive, malignant brain tumor on the same day that we learned we had lost the new baby. 

After the emotions settled into a more predictable pattern, we decided to create this blog to help us come to terms with the ways our lives, and the life of our daughter, are changing.

Thanks for reading and not judging the words we choose too harshly.
